Compare DeatschWerks EV1-to-EV14, USCAR-to-Sumitomo and USCAR-to-EV1 injector adapters on fitment, pack size and cost so you buy the right plug the first time.
Quick answer
For a single EV1 injector going onto an EV14/USCAR harness, choose the DeatschWerks EV1 to EV14 Connector Adapter. For batch wiring work, choose the case-of-50 adapter that matches your harness and injector styles: USCAR to Sumitomo or USCAR to EV1.
Why the harness side decides the adapter, not the injector alone
Injector connector names describe the plug shape on each end, so the same injector body can need different adapters depending on what wiring is already in the car. Identify both sides before ordering: the injector plug and the harness plug. If either end is unclear, the adapter chart below is a starting point, not a substitute for a visual check.
The DeatschWerks listings also differ in packaging. The EV1 to EV14 adapter is sold as a single adapter, while the USCAR to Sumitomo and USCAR to EV1 adapters are offered only as cases of 50. That packaging difference matters more than the per-piece price when you are fixing one connector versus rewiring a set.
Where each adapter makes sense and where it does not
The EV1 to EV14 adapter bridges a Jetronic (EV1) injector to a USCAR (EV14) harness, which is the common direction when a newer harness meets older-style injectors. The USCAR to EV1 adapter runs the opposite way, converting a USCAR connection to Jetronic (EV1) style, so do not assume the two are interchangeable just because both mention EV1.
The USCAR to Sumitomo adapter is for USCAR-to-Sumitomo wiring, a different pairing entirely. None of these adapters changes injector flow, impedance or tune; they only solve the electrical connection. If your problem is a damaged pigtail rather than a style mismatch, an adapter is the wrong repair.
Trade-offs by adapter
- EV1 to EV14 Connector Adapter: Trade-off: lowest commitment and simplest for one connection, but it only covers the EV1-injector-to-EV14-harness direction and is not a bulk pack. Choose it when you have one EV1 injector meeting an EV14 harness. Confirm the harness is EV14/USCAR before ordering; an EV1 harness needs the opposite adapter.
- USCAR to Sumitomo Adapter, Case of 50: Trade-off: plug-and-play USCAR-to-Sumitomo coverage in quantity, but the case-of-50 format is wasteful if you only need one or two. Choose it for shops or full sets where Sumitomo connections are the target. Count the connections you actually need before buying a case.
- USCAR to EV1 Adapter, Case of 50: Trade-off: solves USCAR-harness-to-EV1-injector conversions in volume, but it is the mirror image of the single EV1 to EV14 adapter and cannot substitute for it. Choose it when the harness is USCAR and the injectors are EV1. Match the adapter direction to the harness, not to the injector you happen to be holding.
Adapter options at a glance
- EV1 to EV14 Connector Adapter: Connects EV1 (Jetronic) injectors to an EV14 (USCAR) harness and is sold as a single adapter. Buy one when a single injector or a small repair needs the EV1-to-EV14 direction without committing to a bulk case.

EV1 to EV14 Connector Adapter - Uscar to sumitomo adapter, Case of 50: USCAR to Sumitomo plug-and-play adapter supplied as a case of 50. Suits shops or multi-injector jobs where several USCAR-to-Sumitomo conversions are expected, but it is overkill for a one-plug fix.

Uscar to sumitomo adapter, Case of 50 - Adapter to convert Uscar to Jetronic (EV1), Case of 50: Converts USCAR to Jetronic (EV1) style and comes as a case of 50 (SKU CONN-US-JT-CS). The right bulk choice when the harness is USCAR and the injectors are EV1, the reverse of the single EV1 to EV14 adapter.
Which adapter fits your job
Best for
- A single EV1 injector that must connect to an EV14/USCAR harness
- Shops or multi-injector jobs converting USCAR to Sumitomo in quantity
- Bulk USCAR-harness-to-EV1-injector conversions where a case of 50 is justified
Not for
- Repairing a damaged pigtail or replacing a worn connector body
- Changing injector flow, impedance or engine tuning
- Buyers who have not yet identified both the injector and harness connector styles
